"Together We Rise"
An horrific event that affected many world-wide, deeply transformed the artists home-town of Uvalde, TX. The very openly, expressive and often outspoken artist, found it difficult to describe her emotions
when hearing about the tragedy, so she prayed.
The third day after the event, an image burned into her creative mind. It would be 7 days later when the Lord woke her up at 4 am, the day she was to leave for her Uvalde High School Reunion, and said "Get to it".
This work of art took approximately a week and half to complete, her focus was on what the children were wearing so they could be identified by who each one was. But the primary focus was to create something that would bring peace to all who would see it and know where these precious lives will be for eternity. There were over 150 fulfilled requests for printed canvas copies, as well as a dozen T-shirt orders, and
other assorted memorabilia with this image. The artist would not accept any profit from this art piece
all costs were those directly from the print company who printed and shipped the items.
Photo credit: The original photo of the water tower (as shown on the left side of the painting) was taken by an individual in Uvalde and posted on Facebook. When they took the photo, there were exactly 22 birds in the sky and frame of the photo. 22, 19 children, 2 teachers, and 1 spouse.
